Happy Trails Catering Current Site

In 1996, when Happy Trails Catering, a small but active catering company and cafe here in Pasadena, first met with CityCenter Co. they told us they wanted a small, 2 or 3 page site so that they could have a web presence. They wanted it simple, nothing fancy, and saw no reason to even get their own domain name.

We put together a three page site that did everything they wanted and more. The home page, of course, introduced Happy Trails but went a bit further, incorporating menu items and creating the impression of a much larger site. Using photos of the cafe and some of their parties to create trust and rather enticing photos of some of the dishes to make the visitors hungry, the site gave Happy Trails the the presence on the web they had requested. We even added an online coupon for a free dessert with lunch at the cafe. (A delicious perk which we personally sampled, "for the good of the site.")

In 1999, Happy Trails decided to upgrade the site and get their own domain. CityCenter expanded the site, adding more details about the catering capabilities including several menus, price lists, an online inquiry form and lots more pictures. We also further emphasized the courtyard party location, the only one like it in Pasadena.

As it should, the new site brought in even more new people and so a third generation website was created in 2001. It incorporated a new look, new navigation and introduced Happy Trails Catering's cooking classes. The new look added lots of new pictures and expanded menus.
